A new era of smoke bombs
America's favorite COLORED SMOKE BOMB
I recently did a photoshoot and when I asked my photographer if we could add some smoke bombs she recommended we use Shutter Bombs. Let me tell you! They did NOT disappoint! Of course I had such a hard time picking out just a few colors so we got a bunch of them (twin vent and regular). These made the experience that much more fun! Jake from Shutter Bombs took great care of me, can't recommend enough!
I purchased some smoke grenades to help enhance our training evolution for our fire department. These little things did not disappoint! They gave us the limited to zero visibility we needed to make it as real as possible. I will be sure to get more for any and all training evolutions when we cannot have a live fire environment. Fantastic stuff!!!
I used Shutter bombs for my military medical tactical trauma lanes. I put in the order and received the order faster than I would have by putting in the standard military supply request fortraining. The students loved the smoke effects and realism of the training. Thanks to Shutter Bombs for making my training a success. I will be calling upon you again shortly!
Impressive smoke, better than I thought. A lot lighter than what I carried 50 yrs ago. I now carry some while back pack hunting......just in case. So far I really like them, I'm sure when I use up what I have, I will buy more.
Smoke Bombs for photography
"Shutter bombs provides the best smoke bombs for photographers and it isn't even close. As a photographer, I need a colored smoke bomb that's going to last over a minute so I can get the perfect shot. Shutter Bombs has been my go-to smoke bomb supplier for the last 3 years, I can't say enough good things about Jake and his team" - Kyle S.

Please allow 24 hours for order processing.
All orders placed on the weekend will be shipped out Monday.
Unfortunately not. Due to the nature of the products, these are required to travel via hazmat ground, and cars can only go so fast.
Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org & Jake@shutterbombs.com ASAP! Please include your name, email, order # and the requested changes.
If the order has already been shipped out, we will not be able to make any changes.
I hate the hazmat shipping just as much as you do - but unfortunately, there's just no way around it.
Smoke bombs are classified as hazardous products and we are legally required to use a hazmat courier to deliver your order.
This shipping method is a $39.99 flat rate for each shipment - there is literally no way around it. We do not set this price, Fedex, and UPS set the price. I want to make it very clear that we do not make money on Shipping, in fact - we often lose money on it.
For this reason we recommend ordering more units per order to get the best bang for your buck.
Cart value $0-$100: $40 shipping
Cart value $100-$150: $30 shipping
Cart value $150-$200: $20 shipping
Cart Value $200+ we cover the hazmat shipping (free).
My recommendation is to round up some buddies and all go in on an order to hit that $200 free shipping threshold.
No. Not because we're grumpy, but because you legally cannot ship them back without a license, and Fedex won't do "one-off" hazmat shipments for people without licenses.
No, you cannot use our smoke bombs indoors as it will stain the interior and create potentially harmful environments if there is not good ventilation.
No, you cannot bring our smoke bombs on airplanes....
Email me personally at email@example.com or my customer support team (which may or may not be my mom) and we'll happily answer any questions you may have!
Store them in a cool, dry place and get 10+ years out of them! Our smoke bombs are similar to wine in the sense that they actually get better (more dense, tend to burn longer) as the products get older.
Unfortunately, we only sell online.
The Department of Transportation's (DOT) Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) enforces that all packages MUST BE SIGNED FOR. Any legal adult (18+) can sign for it, it doesn't need to be you. If you aren't home on the first attempt, Fedex will try 3 more times before the package gets sent back to us.
Yes! Different smoke bomb colors mean different things, especially within the military.
Red Smoke - In military and emergency services, red smoke is often used as a signaling device to mark a specific location or to signal for help. It can also be used to create a smokescreen to obscure visibility or provide cover for personnel.
Black Smoke - Mostly used for concealmeant
Blue smoke - Used for target marking (mark specific locations or ground troops), extraction (use for landing zones), and potential communication.
Green smoke - Green smoke is often used during training exercises to simulate the use of a signaling device in a combat situation. Troops may use green smoke to signal for extraction, mark a location, or communicate with other units.
Orange smoke - Search and Rescue: Orange smoke can be used to mark the location of a downed aircraft or missing personnel during search and rescue operations. This can help search and rescue teams quickly locate and recover personnel in need of assistance.
Pink smoke - Gender reveals.....duh
Purple smoke - Used for training and simulation for real life experiences.
Yellow smoke - In the military/emergency services, yellow smoke can be used to indicate a chemical hazard or contamination.
White smoke - Surrender: In some cases, white smoke may be used as a signal of surrender. For example, troops or vehicles may release white smoke to indicate that they are surrendering to enemy forces.
Smoke bombs are used by people in so many remarkable ways. Here are over 25 different use cases I've collected directly from customers in 2022.
Photoshoots, home defense, wind indicators, skydiving, airsoft, skydiving, celebrations, paintball, military simulations/training, Halloween, video shoots, pissing off the entire neighborhood (oops), visual effects, college announcements, checking room ventilation, smoke bombs for gopher infestation out of their holes, Search and rescue medics, pumpkin carving, signaling devices for backpackers, sports entrances, gender reveals, k-9 training, firefighter training, LZ’s, 4th of July, Graduation pictures, concealment, wedding photography, or for some plain ol’ fun!
