The WP40 wire-pull is the longest single burn we stock at roughly 90 seconds of continuous dense smoke. That's the unit photographers use for full posed sequences without re-lighting.
How long do most smoke bombs last?
The common range is 25–90 seconds: EG25 micro ~25s, Twin Vent II ~25s from two vents at once, WP40-D and TP40 ~60s, WP40 ~90s.
How do I make smoke last through a whole photoshoot?
Stagger units: light the second one as the first fades. Two WP40s cover about three minutes of continuous smoke — enough for most portrait sets at one location.
Does weather change burn time?
Burn time stays roughly constant, but wind spreads the smoke thinner. On windy days use higher-output units (WP40, Twin Vent II) or shoot in wind shadows for a fuller cloud.
