Which color shows up best in photos?
White is the most versatile in any light. Warm colors (red, orange) pop hardest in bright sun; cool colors (purple, blue, pink) hold saturation best in shade, overcast, and dusk light.
Can I combine colors?
Absolutely — two-color pairings like pink+purple or orange+teal-adjacent blue are the signature smoke-photography look. Light one in each hand or stagger them for layered clouds.
Is the colored dye safe?
Our smoke is non-toxic and cool-burning. The dye can temporarily tint light fabric at very close range, so keep a few feet of distance and stay upwind.
